A QR code (Quick Response code) is a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) that can be scanned by a smartphone or QR code reader to quickly access information. It typically contains data such as URLs, text, or other digital information.

Creating a free QR code is simple and quick. Start by selecting the type of QR code you need, such as a URL, vCard, Plain Text, Email, SMS, Twitter, WiFi, or Bitcoin. Keep in mind that these free QR codes are not editable or trackable. Next, fill in the necessary details like a link, contact information, or text in the provided fields. Once everything is entered, click “Generate.” Finally, you can either opt for the standard black-and-white design or customize it with colors and frames for added appeal. Once you’re satisfied, download your completed QR code.

QR codes are increasingly popular due to their versatility. They allow you to collect feedback for product or service improvement, boost customer engagement with images or videos, and promote your business through events and coupons- all with a single scan.

QR codes are highly versatile and can store various types of information. They can hold URLs for easy access to web pages, store contact details to save names, phone numbers, and email addresses directly to your phone, and much more.

No, there is no limit on the number of times a QR Code can be scanned.

A Static QR code, once created, cannot be edited or tracked. Its content is fixed, and it remains the same even if printed. In contrast, a Dynamic QR code offers flexibility and can be updated with new content, links, or corrections after printing. Additionally, it allows you to track scan metrics, including the number of scans, as well as their location and time.

Static QR remains valid indefinitely and does not expire. The only situation where a Static QR Code might become unusable is if the link it directs to is changed or deleted. To maintain full control over your QR Codes, we recommend using Dynamic QR Codes. They allow you to update or replace the content and links at any time, offering additional benefits for your campaigns.

There could be several reasons. Your QR Code might not be recognized by scanners if it’s blurry or lacks sufficient contrast between the Code and the background. A good rule of thumb is to ensure that the foreground is darker than the background. To achieve the best results, follow our tips before printing.

What size should a QR code be?

We recommend a minimum size of 2 cm (0.8 inches) for QR codes. However, the ideal size depends on several factors:

Distance from Scanning Device: If the QR code will be scanned from a distance, such as on the side of a building, it needs to be larger. For close-up scans, like in a magazine, a smaller size is sufficient.
Dot Size and Code Complexity: As the amount of data in a QR code increases, the number of dots (modules) also increases, making them smaller. To ensure readability, aim for a QR code with no more than 50 rows and columns of dots to stay within the resolution limits of most smartphone cameras.

Regardless of size, always test the QR code in its intended setting to ensure it scans correctly.
